The Bank of Thailand (18 Sep 2026) kept its view that the 1.00% policy rate fits the local economy, even as several central banks raise rates. It said the baht is moving steadily, reserves exceed USD 300bn, and it is not worried about capital outflows. Thai growth is still below potential and inflation is expected to ease in 2027, so policy can stay accommodative. For an SME, the practical read is that borrowing costs are unlikely to jump soon. Keep existing loan and FX plans, but do not assume the baht will swing sharply on rate gaps alone.
