The Revenue Department's draft outbound travel tax would add 1,000 baht per person on flights abroad. ATTA, the Thai Travel Business Association, will submit an objection to the Finance Ministry, arguing it adds cost on top of the AOT passenger fee already raised from 730 to 1,120 baht on 20 June 2026, and the planned 450-baht foreign visitor fee. ATTA warns that travellers may cut bookings or squeeze spending on hotels, food and local goods, which hits SMEs along the tourism chain. If you sell travel, tours or trips abroad, watch for price pressure on packages and margins. The draft is still under consultation, so nothing is in force yet.
