Ten Thai banks' combined net profit for the first nine months of 2026 was 198,969 million baht, down 3.6% year on year. Seven banks still grew profit. Lower interest income at the big banks and smaller investment gains drove the drop. For SME owners, SME loans at SCB (down 7.6%), TTB (down 6.7%) and BAY (down 5.9%) shrank, while CREDIT (Micro SME up 11.7%), LHFG and TISCO kept growing their SME books. If you borrow, compare mid-sized lenders, which are still lending to small businesses. Car hire-purchase portfolios also shrank at several banks.
