Thai Airways (THAI) says it has hedged 40-50% of its fuel needs for the rest of 2026 and will pass part of the cost to passengers through fuel surcharges. Jet fuel prices began rising in Q3 2026 as Middle East tensions flared again. For SMEs, this signals that transport and logistics costs may keep rising through year-end. Check whether your freight or travel contracts include fuel surcharge clauses. THAI also plans to add Asian routes and frequencies, which may mean more flight options and possibly lower fares to China, India and Vietnam. The 2027 hedging plan is still undecided.
