The EU's Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR, EU 2025/40) has applied since 12 August 2026 and covers all packaging: boxes, plastic wrap, food packaging, paper cups, tea bags, coffee capsules, labels and e-commerce shipping packaging. It limits hazardous substances (lead, cadmium, mercury, chromium) and bans PFAS coatings in all food packaging. If you sell to the EU, check your packaging materials and design for recyclability now. The EU was Thailand's No. 3 export market in 2025 (US$26.49bn, up 9.45%), and exports there grew 20% in H1 2026, so the cost of adapting is worth planning this quarter.
