Cabinet holds its first off-site meeting in Songkhla on 31 Aug–1 Sep 2026. Five southern border provinces have put forward 199 projects worth about 57 bn baht, which will go to the cabinet on 1 Sep. The government also plans a flood and disaster insurance scheme run by private insurers with state funding, covering 20 million households, to take effect 1 October if approved.
