SCB EIC estimates floods from 16 Sep to 7 Oct 2026 affected about 1.48 million households (around 6%) and 1.69 million workers, with Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Nayok, Chonburi, Chachoengsao, Prachin Buri and Ayutthaya most exposed. It cuts GDP growth by 0.05-0.1% in the base case, and up to 0.25% if Bangkok's inner flood barrier is breached again. Expect weaker demand in retail, restaurants, tourism and property, delivery delays in supply chains, and repair costs. Small firms with limited cash reserves are most at risk, so review cash runway and credit lines now. Demand for flood-protection materials and repairs may offer opportunities.
