From Friday, Thai airports can open checked bags suspected of carrying prohibited items without the owner present. Authorities leave an inspection notice inside the bag and record the check on video. For business travellers and staff who fly with samples, stock or documents, keep valuables and important papers in hand luggage, and do not pack power banks, explosives or firearms in checked bags.
