The Office of Insurance Commission has ordered insurers to ease premium payments and policy terms for flood-affected customers, speed up assessments, and aim to pay verified claims within seven days, including in Bangkok. Total-loss cases should move faster once documents are verified. Flood-affected insurance agents and brokers whose licences expired from Sept 25 can apply for an extension within 15 days after the flood ends, no later than Dec 31. Business owners with flood damage should file claims promptly with complete documents, and any agent or broker on your team should check licence status.
