Excise and police seized 6,050 packs of IQOS tobacco sticks stored in shophouses in Bangkok's Klong San area for online sale without paid tax. The state lost about 379,940 baht in tax, and the estimated fine is about 5.7 million baht. Nine suspects face charges under Section 204 of the Excise Tax Act 2017. About 91,616 e-cigarette devices, liquids and accessories were also found; these are not in the excise tariff, so other agencies will handle them. For a Thai business, the lesson is to buy tobacco and vape products only from licensed, tax-paid channels, and to check the origin of cheap stock before reselling it.
