The Transport Ministry plans to submit the 308 km Chira–Ubon Ratchathani double-track rail project, budgeted at 44,095 million baht across 34 stations and four provinces (Buriram, Surin, Si Saket, Ubon), to the Cabinet. Construction is expected to start in 2571 (2028) and finish in 2575 (2032). Nothing changes for a small business this year; the value is in knowing that freight and logistics costs in the lower Isan corridor may improve over the long term.
