The Finance Ministry is planning to use part of the 400bn baht clean-energy loan decree (200bn baht portion) to convert public transport to EVs, starting with taxis, vans, buses and provincial public buses. Old vehicles must be deregistered and scrapped via private recyclers; B20 biodiesel is also under consideration. No budget breakdown or start date yet. The existing EV 3.5 subsidy of about 50,000 baht per vehicle remains. If you run a taxi, van or bus business, watch for the scheme details from the Transport Ministry; for others, no action is needed now.
