The Tourism Ministry is preparing a cabinet proposal for a 450 baht fee per foreign visitor, starting with air arrivals in Q1 of 2027 (2570). An online consultation showed 80.50% support, and the fund is projected to raise at least 8,000 million baht a year. Land and sea crossings would be deferred for one year. For tour, hotel, transport and tour-guide businesses, plan for a possible small cost increase per arriving guest and watch for the cabinet decision and effective date. The fee is not yet law.
