EGAT (Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand) says renewables will grow sharply under the draft PDP 2026, adding tens of thousands of MW, but solar and wind bring grid-stability risks. It is testing grid-forming inverters and is considering requiring solar farms above 5 MW to install them. Batteries are being piloted in Lopburi and Chaiyaphum, and EGAT notes that European-designed batteries may need extra air-conditioning in Thailand. For a small business, this is long-range: watch for rules on large solar projects if you plan one, but no action is needed now.
