Government Savings Bank (GSB) has launched two products. "Om Sook" is a 3-year deposit paying interest monthly at an effective 1.52% a year, tax-free, minimum opening 100,000 baht, open 2 Aug to 31 Oct 2026. The "Special 5-Year Savings Lottery" pays an average 0.20% a year plus 2 prize draws a month, with a top prize of 20 million baht, sold from 2 Aug 2026 at branches or via the MyMo app. For SME owners holding idle cash, the Om Sook deposit may beat a standard fixed deposit on after-tax monthly income, but the lottery is a weak savings choice. Deposits are fully government-guaranteed by law.
