The Thai planning agency (NESDC/สภาพัฒน์) is pushing a draft Act to protect freelance platform workers, now about 500,000 people. It would set platform duties on transparency, cover minimum pay and benefits, and encourage worker unions. A law is not yet passed, so nothing changes today. If your business relies on platform riders or gig freelancers, or sells through these apps, watch for rules on pay, algorithm-based account suspension and rating disputes.
