The Meteorological Department has ended its pilot of the Tomorrow.io forecasting platform while it studies more data; other vendors may be considered later. Minister Chaichanok Chidchob says the department's public communication is not good enough and must improve. He also says warnings should go out at roughly 60-70% confidence rather than waiting for 90%. Another low-pressure system is forecast around 9-12 October, smaller and on the Gulf of Thailand side, but still a flood risk because soils are saturated, dams are rising and drainage is blocked. For a small business, plan for flooding now: move stock and equipment up, and check the department's hourly updates early.
