The Agriculture Ministry opened a 24-hour flood war room after rains from a monsoon trough hit 21 provinces. Downstream releases from the Chao Phraya dams will be held at no more than 2,000 cubic metres per second, and the four main dams are about 70% full. The ministry says this year will not be as severe as 2011 or 2022. Low-lying areas outside the embankments have been warned in advance. If your premises or stock are in the Chao Phraya lower basin or Bangkok fringe, check flood barriers, move stock off the floor, and watch the Royal Irrigation Department's alerts. Nothing in the article sets a tax, price or permit change.

Thai Airways is waiving change fees for one date change on same route and fare class for passengers with tickets issued on or before 26-29 September 2026 who travel through Suvarnabhumi during 26-29 September. The new flight must depart before 29 September; later changes follow the ticket conditions. Relevant if your staff or clients are booked on these dates: rebook early, allow extra travel time because of flood-related traffic, and check flight status via the THAI app, thaiairways.com or the contact centre at +66 2 356 1111.

GHB (Government Housing Bank) has launched seven flood-relief measures after heavy rain on 25–27 September 2026. Current borrowers whose collateral is hit can get a 3-month repayment holiday (6 months if the home is uninhabitable) at 0% interest. Repair loans of up to 300,000 baht over 5 years are available, with the first 100,000 baht at 1% fixed for 3 years. New repair or rebuild loans go up to 2 million baht per property over 40 years, with 0% interest for months 1–3 and no principal payments. Insurance claims under the homeowner fire policy with natural-disaster cover can be fast-tracked by photo, up to 20,000 baht. If your home or premises are flood-damaged, or you hold a GHB mortgage, this is worth applying for now. Check whether the 2026 flood event applies to your property's location.

Bangkok governor Chadchart said flood levels have stabilised after heavy rain from 24 Sept. Rain is expected to ease by afternoon and evening. BMA pumps are at full capacity and expects 2–3 days to drain standing water, though water from surrounding areas may keep flowing in. About 93 roads are flooded, including Ekkamai, Ratchadaphisek, Lat Phrao, Phahon Yothin and Ramkhamhaeng. Plan delivery routes and stock around these roads, move stock off ground floors near canals, and check the BMA road-flood monitoring system before sending staff out.

Bangkok has recorded 487mm of rain since early September, 82% above the 30-year average for the same period, and the BMA has declared all 50 districts disaster areas to speed up flood response. Expect road closures, delivery delays, stock damage and staff absences in the capital this week. Check stock and equipment stored at ground level, plan alternative delivery routes, and confirm with your staff and landlord how flood-affected days will be handled.

Toyota Motor Thailand and Lexus dealers nationwide are offering flood-affected owners 30% off general repair parts and chemicals, 30% off body and paint parts (insurance-covered costs excluded), and 50% off carpet and sound-insulation parts, valid from the announcement date until 31 December 2026 at all showrooms. Auto repair shops and parts sellers in flood areas should expect competing discounts and price pressure. Owners of damaged cars can use this to cut repair costs.

The Department of Highways and DMT have waived motorway tolls from 14:30 on 26 Sept 2026 (M7 and M9 from 13:00) until midnight on 27 Sept, to ease flood traffic, especially on Vibhavadi Rangsit. DMT warns small cars to avoid the Chaeng Watthana (inbound), Lak Si/Lak Si exit (outbound) and Lat Phrao (outbound) toll gates because flood levels there remain high. If your deliveries or staff commute go through north Bangkok, plan routes and timing around these dates and check flood points before dispatching.

Heavy rain across several areas has caused flight cancellations and stranded tourists at Suvarnabhumi airport. The Tourism Ministry has set up an operations centre with the Tourist Police and TAT, and tourists can call the Tourist Police hotline 1155 or the 24-hour Tourist Assistance Center. For hotels and tour operators, expect guests who are delayed or need extra nights; TAT is coordinating with accommodation providers. The article gives no figures on how long disruption will last.

DMT, the operator of the Donmuang tollway, has waived all tolls from 14:30 on 26 September until 24:00 on 27 September 2026 because of flooding on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road. Light vehicles should avoid the Chaeng Watthana (inbound), Lak Si (outbound) and Lat Phrao (outbound) toll gates, where flooding is deep and only large vehicles can pass. If your staff or deliveries use this route, plan the trip around the flooded gates and expect the free road to be busy.

The Civil Service Commission (ก.พ.) asked government agencies to consider 100% work-from-home for 28-29 September 2026 because heavy rain and flooding are expected to continue into early next week. This applies to government offices, not private firms, so it is a signal rather than a rule for your business. If your customers or suppliers are government agencies, expect slower approvals and visits on those days. Check your delivery routes and staff commutes for flood risk, and plan for possible disruption.

PM Anutin is cutting short his UK trip and arriving in Thailand around 08.00 on 27 September 2569 (2026) to run the flood response. Bangkok governor leads flood management in the capital; the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department (ปภ.) is supplying equipment and manpower. For a small business in flood-hit areas, follow official updates via NBT 2HD, ThaiWater, and the 1784 emergency line or LINE @1784DDPM for help requests. Plan for disruption to access, stock and deliveries while water is high.

Deputy PM Yodchanan Wongsawat inspected the Pak Khlong Rangsit semi-permanent pump station and ordered faster drainage to relieve flooding in Pathum Thani (Thanyaburi, Khlong Luang, Lam Luk Ka) and northern Bangkok. The station runs 20 pumps with up to 120 cubic metres per second capacity, currently at 78 m3/s, with a planned peak of 90 m3/s. Agencies in the north were told to prepare for more rain over the next 1-2 days. For businesses in these areas: check flood-prone stock and equipment, and plan access routes, since flooding and road disruption may follow.

Deputy PM Ekniti ordered proactive flood management in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. The province has declared 5 districts, 64 subdistricts and 301 villages as disaster zones. Chao Phraya is discharging 1,900 cubic metres per second from the dam, and water is being diverted to both banks and into flood-retention areas. The Industry Ministry says industrial estates in the province have raised dikes and are monitoring water levels. If you run a business in Ayutthaya, the lower Chao Phraya, or along the river, check your flood barriers, pumps and evacuation plan now, and plan for possible access and staffing disruption.

Mama's maker says flood alerts sent at about 09:00 triggered a rush to buy. Pork and fresh vegetables sold out first, and convenience stores ran out before supermarkets. Big retailers hold about 2–3 days of stock in their system, and distribution centres about 3–4 days. Delivery to stores may be slow because small delivery trucks struggle in flooded areas. The company expects the disruption to last about 2–3 days, not a long shortage. For a shop owner: keep a few days of fast-moving goods on hand, plan for slower restocking, and expect small neighbourhood stores to run out first.

The Irrigation Department raised Chao Phraya dam outflow to 1,850 cu m/s (from 1,750), still under the 2,000 cu m/s cap, and says the Nakhon Sawan station is not a concern. The watch area is Nakhon Sawan down to Chai Nat, where rain and tributary inflows are adding water, and Sa Kaeo and Prachinburi in the east face possible local overflow. If your premises, stock or transport sit along the Chao Phraya or in those eastern provinces, keep checking the Irrigation Department updates this week and stage any flood-sensitive stock or equipment.

Heavy rain has begun flooding some areas, raising transport risk. The Commerce Ministry has told provincial commerce offices to track stock levels and prices of essential goods and report flood areas and needs. It is also working with wholesalers, retailers and local operators to restock affected areas. Expect possible delivery delays and local price pressure in flooded regions. Keep stock of essentials, check your supply routes, and show price tags clearly. Complaints about unfair prices, shortages or hoarding can go to the Department of Internal Trade hotline 1569 or your provincial commerce office.

TEAMG warns Bangkok and surrounding provinces could get 100-150 mm of rain a day on 26-27 September, well above the drainage design of about 60 mm a day. Canals such as Lat Phrao, Rangsit and Saen Saep are near or over their banks. Expect water of 10-20 cm on roads near canals and up to 50 cm in low basins, possibly lasting into Sunday 27 September. The cause is rainwater not draining, not river flooding; the Chao Phraya is at safe levels. For shops and workshops in low-lying or canal-side areas, move stock off the floor, plan for delivery and staff disruption, and keep vehicles out of flooded roads.

The Mall Group is offering free car parking at all The Mall Lifestyle branches and The Mall Korat from 26-27 September 2026 for customers affected by flooding. Parking is first-come, first-served, needs registration with a copy of your ID card and vehicle registration, and is limited to specified floors. Owners in flood areas near these branches can use it to park vehicles safely; the mall is not liable for damage or theft inside cars.

The 4,000-million-baht Thai Thiew Thai Plus scheme (1 million rights) has been moved from late 2026 to April 2027 to boost low season. Northern hotel operators argue the peak Oct-Dec months are already 70-80% booked and that PM2.5 haze (Mar-May) hurts north demand. They propose running it in the June-September green season, or in Feb-Mar. Nothing is confirmed yet. Plan cash flow for late 2026 without the subsidy, and watch for final dates before pricing or promoting any scheme-linked rates.

Government Savings Bank, Krungthai and SCB have temporarily closed dozens of branches in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan on 26 Sep 2026 because of flooding. Savings Bank says it will keep announcing more closures for other areas. If your business banks at a listed branch, plan cash deposits, cheque clearing and bill payments through another branch, app or ATM, and check each bank's branch notice before visiting. Branches in flood zones may stay closed beyond one day.
